Finantsinspektsioon issued authorisation to operate as an investment firm to Funderbeam Markets AS

By decision of the management board of 31 December 2020, Finantsinspektsioon issued authorisation to operate as an investment firm to Funderbeam Markets AS.

“I am pleased to see that Funderbeam, a fintech firm with Estonian roots, sees that the environment here is good to operate in and as a base to expand its business across the European Union”, said Chair of the Finantsinspektsioon management board Kilvar Kessler. He added that the Finantsinspektsioon strategy is to be open to discussions with other Estonian fintech firms that appreciate the local environment. “We are not advertising ourselves as the softest financial supervisory institution in the world, but we do understand financial businesses, and their risks and opportunities, and we put a high price on transparency”, added Mr Kessler.

Funderbeam Markets AS has the right to provide securities brokerage services and securities investment underwriting services, and to hold the securities of clients under the Securities Markets Act section 43(1) 1), 2) and 7), and section 44 1) and 4).

Funderbeam Markets AS serves investors in 134 countries around the world, and businesses in Europe and Asia. The company was founded in 2013 and has offices in Tallinn, London, Copenhagen, Zagreb and Singapore. The founder and head of the company is Kaidi Ruusalepp.
