Finantsinspektsioon has drawn up an ESG sustainability roadmap for companies that help them to organise their sustainability activities, and to identify and manage risks. The sustainability roadmap is a practical assistant for companies that have had no real involvement with sustainability yet, and confirmation for those who have worked more closely on it. Finantsinspektsioon will start to increase its supervision of sustainability gradually in 2023, as required by the legislation.
The current Finantsinspektsioon strategy requires the supervisor to apply the legal standards of sustainability in the financial sector, with the result that companies and listed companies under financial supervision must follow all of the applicable ESG principles set out in the legislation.
Under the strategy, Finantsinspektsioon applies environmentally sustainable principles in its administration and other activities. In connection with this, Finantsinspektsioon was certified as a green office on 5 October, and applies the principles of the green office to the institution.
